Quick, honest answers about AskSage — written in plain language.
Open the app your family or doctor uses to call — FaceTime on iPhone, or Zoom, Skype, or Google Meet on most phones. Tap on the person's name, then tap the camera button to start the video. If you only see an audio button, tap it to switch to video.
Use the password manager that is already built into your phone or browser. On iPhone it's called iCloud Keychain. On Android and most browsers it's called Google Password Manager. It fills in your passwords for you, so you only have to remember one main password — the one that unlocks the manager itself.
Watch for three warning signs: it asks you to click a link and enter a password or credit card number, it says you must act right now or something bad will happen, and it comes from an address you don't recognize. When in doubt, do not click — ask a family member, or ask AskSage to look at it for you.
Make sure the phone and the printer are on the same Wi-Fi network. Open what you want to print — a photo, an email, or a webpage — tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up), then tap Print. Choose your printer from the list and tap Print again.
Any modern browser is safe for everyday use — Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android, and Edge or Chrome on Windows. The safest browser is the one that came with your device, because it updates itself automatically. Avoid clicking search results that say 'Download a faster browser' — those are usually not what they seem.
On iPhone, open Settings, tap General, then Software Update, then Download and Install. On Android, open Settings, tap System, then System Update. Plug the device in to charge and connect to Wi-Fi first, because updates can take a while.
